Jim Harbaugh has been dealing with a climb since he took over Brady Hoke’s 5-7 team.

He had to find himself a quarterback, he had to prevent guys from transferring, and above all else, he had to win. Well, Harbaugh did exactly that in his first year with the Wolverines.

But Harbaugh’s climb continues in more ways than one.

On Monday night, Harbaugh and his staff visited four-star cornerback David Long. And how did he leave his mark?

By climbing a tree, of course.

It remains to be seen how that will impact Long, who is set to pick between Michigan and Washington on Thursday night on ESPNU at 6 p.m. ET.

It’s not quite as crazy as spending the night at a recruit’s house, which of course Harbaugh did last week. Actually, he planned on continuing his West Coast trip on Tuesday night by sleeping over at the house of four-star Phoenix defensive end Connor Murphy.

It’s not surprising to see Harbaugh and his staff go all out with National Signing Day two weeks away, especially after watching Urban Meyer land three four-star recruits on Monday.

Michigan still boasts the No. 3 class in the 247sports rankings, and with the Wolverines still in hot pursuit of a few more top prospects, that number could change.

Perhaps that’s why Harbaugh’s staff had this universal reaction to the ever-important question.

How’s business?
