Three Michigan freshmen surprisingly missed the team picture last week. Jim Harbaugh said that they had other commitments.

On Monday, he said that two of the three were suspended, but he didn’t name them.

A Michigan official confirmed to the Detroit News that the players suspended were freshman receiver Ahmir Mitchell and redshirt freshman defensive lineman Shelton Johnson. Freshman running back Kareem Walker was also part of the group that missed the team picture, but he wasn’t suspended.

It hasn’t been determined how long their suspensions will be or what team rule they broke. Harbaugh apparently didn’t like being asked that question after he said the matter would be handled internally.

“That’s why I don’t give you any information cause you’re never satisfied,” Harbaugh said to the Michigan media on Monday. “You want a second question, a third question, a fourth question. I just said we’d handle it internally. Thank you.”

He then left his rare fall camp availability session.

Mitchell was a four-star recruit from New Jersey while Shelton Johnson was a three-star 2015 recruit from Florida.
