Jack Stewart wants to finish out his college football career a little closer to home. So, on Monday, the former Michigan defensive lineman announced his transfer destination.

Stewart, who spent three seasons suiting up for the Wolverines, will be transferring to UConn. The Connecticut native will have three years of eligibility remaining.

“I’m coming home,” Stewart wrote on Twitter.

Stewart entered the NCAA transfer portal following the 2021 season. He was a member of a Michigan team that finished the 2021 campaign with a 12-2 record, which included a win over Ohio State, a B1G title and a berth in the College Football Playoff.

In three seasons in Ann Arbor, Stewart did not receive any playing time. He is a former 3-star recruit from Michigan’s 2019 class.

UConn is under new leadership heading into the 2022 season, hiring Jim Mora to be the next head coach.
