The first B1G spring game is in the books.

On Saturday, Michigan it the field in Ann Arbor for the Maize and Blue Game. The reigning B1G champions are going through plenty of changes, with several key players departing to the NFL and ushering in new offensive and defensive coordinators.

A lot of key contributors from last year’s 12-2 squad either missed Saturday’s spring game or saw limited action. Still, it was a competitive contest with the Blue defeating the Maize 20-12 in the four-quarter contest.

Below are some of the highlights from Saturday afternoon in Ann Arbor — which included trick plays, big runs, great catches and, of course, some great celebrations:

Freshman wide receiver Darrius Clemons had a big game, hauling in multiple catches, including a diving 35-yard touchdown catch. Donovan Edwards showed off his versatility as a pass-catcher out of the backfield and Blake Corum looked as strong as ever.

Wide receiver Ronnie Bell, who missed most of last season with an ACL injury, wasn’t on the field but said he’s “feeling good” heading into the 2022 season.
