Hunter Dickinson, the No. 1 player in the transfer portal, announced Thursday that he has committed to Kansas to play the 2023-24 college basketball season.

Take a moment to appreciate how huge of a get that is for Kansas, which was going to be deadly in 2023-24 even without Dickinson. The dominant big is a force in the paint, can spread the floor with 3-point shooting and is a defensive nightmare at 7-1, 260 pounds. He was the catalyst for a B1G title and Elite 8 appearance for Michigan in 2020-21 and led the Wolverines to a Sweet 16 berth in 2021-22.

Dickinson is the 6th Michigan player to officially leave the program this offseason, joining the likes of Jett Howard to the NBA Draft and Isaiah Barnes to the transfer portal.

He released a video detailing his commitment Thursday morning via his personal Twitter account. Check it out below:

Dickinson averaged 18.5 points, 9 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game in 2023 for the Wolverines. He’s also won All-B1G honors in each of his 3 seasons at Michigan, and it’s hard to believe that trend will stop in the Big 12.

Bill Self’s squad in Lawrence could be scary next season.
