Hunter Dickinson may have played his last Michigan home game after all. The star Wolverines big man has sent shockwaves through the college basketball world with reports that he is entering the NCAA transfer portal.

ESPN was among the many outlets to report that Dickinson will enter his name in the portal, allowing him to visit and be recruited by other programs.

Dickinson has played 3 seasons at U-M, leading the Wolverines in scoring and rebounding each year.

As a freshman, Dickinson averaged 14.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, recording a team-high 6 double-doubles over 26 appearances with 23 starts. He was the B1G Freshman of the Year for the season.

In his sophomore season, Dickinson started 32 games. He upped his averages to 18.6 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

This past season, Dickinson was the only Wolverine to start all 34 games. He averaged 18.5 points and a career-best 9 rebounds per game.

Dickinson was named a consensus All-American in 2021. In both 2021 and ’23 he earned All-B1G first-team recognition. Dickinson is just the 8th Wolverine with 1,500+ points and 750+ rebounds in his career.

In February, Dickinson was asked if he had played his final home game at U-M:

“I wasn’t expecting that one,” Dickinson said in response to the question. “I don’t think so. I don’t have the crystal 8-ball, but if it was, it was a damn good way to end it. That’s for sure. But right now, I’m focused on trying to beat Illinois.”

The college basketball world will be watching closely if Dickinson decides to follow through with transferring.
