Even after a win, Jim Harbaugh is under a little bit of criticism. His recent praise of Michigan’s offense has left some scratching their heads.

Michigan posted a 10-3 victory over Iowa on Saturday, thanks to a dominating defensive performance. Harbaugh gave plenty of credit to that side of the football, calling the game a defensive “masterpiece.” That much we can all agree on.

Offensively, though, the Wolverines struggled again. A week after scoring 52 points on Rutgers, the offense reverted back to its old ways. Some credit should be given to Iowa’s defense, but UM’s offense just hasn’t looked right from the start of the season.

Harbaugh sees it differently. After the game, the head coach suggested the offense is “close to hitting their stride,” an interesting remark after a 10-point outing. He says the effort from the players and what he’s seen in practice and in games is an indication that things are headed in a positive direction.

In his weekly segment with Brad Galli of ABC 7, Harbaugh went into a little more detail about Michigan’s offense, what he’s seeing and what he likes. Below is the interview, as posted by Michigan football’s Twitter account.

Michigan hits the road this weekend to face Illinois. The Wolverines are 4-1 with a 2-1 record in B1G play. Illinois is 2-3 this season and 0-2 in the conference.

Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET and the game will air on ABC.
