J.J. McCarthy is enjoying success in his first season as Michigan’s starting QB.

McCarthy has successfully piloted the Wolverines to a 5-0 record and a No. 4 ranking. McCarthy attributes his success to his meditation ritual and the QBs he tries to emulate.

McCarthy says he tries to emulate Lamar Jackson’s legs, Tom Brady’s head, Patrick Mahomes’ arm, and Aaron Rodgers’ finesse. The QB also meditates on the field for 10 minutes every game day, in addition to the 30 minutes of meditation he practices every day.

Clearly whatever McCarthy is doing is working. Since securing the starting job after an impressive performance against Hawaii, McCarthy has yet to commit a turnover.

The sophomore QB is trying to remain perfect on the season against Indiana in Week 6. The Wolverines and Hoosiers are currently tied at 10, early in the 3rd quarter.
