Jack Harbaugh provides warning to Jim, says Bowling Green will 'kick your ass'
Jack Harbaugh might be the father of Jim Harbaugh and a piece of Michigan’s coaching staff, but that doesn’t change his Bowling Green roots.
During his playing days, the elder Harbaugh suited up for Bowling Green from 1957-60. He eventually returned to the program as an assistant coach from 1968-70 as part of a coaching career that spans more than 40 years.
Ahead of this season, Michigan announced Jack Harbaugh was rejoining the football program as an assistant head coach. He previously spent 1973-79 on the Wolverine coaching staff as the DBs coach.
However, Jack’s love for the Falcons remains evident. At his Monday press conference, Jim Harbaugh said his dad had some smack talk, saying Bowling Green is coming to Ann Arbor to “kick your ass.”
“My mom and dad met in an English class at BG, heard all those stories,” said Jim. “There’s a great picture of my dad sitting on the bench, wearing his No. 13, and my mom right behind him as a cheerleader at BG. So, yeah, BG.
“My dad has been right there for a couple of weeks telling us: Bowling Green is going to come up here and kick. Your. Ass. We got that as well.”
Hopefully, the Wolverines show up prepared to take care of business, and Jack is at least doing his part to keep Michigan from taking the Falcons lightly.
