Jack Tuttle was a veteran piece added to Michigan’s quarterback room this offseason. With JJ McCarthy entrenched as the starter, Tuttle transferred in from Indiana to serve as a backup for the Wolverines.

With Saturday’s game out of hand late, Tuttle was inserted into action late in the third quarter. He started his time with a bang, picking up 14 yards on his first carry, but was banged up in the process.

As Tuttle went to the sidelines, he was locked up with a UNLV defender. That defender stayed with Tuttle and gave the QB a very late shove out of bounds, sending Tuttle flying over a Gatorade table and crashing down near the brick wall behind the bench.

Tuttle was visibly shaken up and immediately grabbed his left shoulder. Fortunately, it looks like he avoided a major injury but he has gone to the medical tent and may not return with the game ultimately decided.

To their credit, the UNLV staff was quick to respond with the incident occurring on the Rebels’ sideline, but it was scary at the time it happened:
