The NFL Draft is just one week away with the Jacksonville Jaguars holding the No. 1 overall pick. On Friday, Jacksonville GM Trent Baalke and new head coach Doug Pederson met with the media to discuss their options at the top.
Most notably, Baalke shared that the decision on who the Jaguars will take No. 1 overall has not been determined. Baalke called the process “a work in progress” but did indicate Jacksonville is down to 4 options with the first pick.
It also sounds like the Jaguars will be staying at No. 1. According to Baalke, no one has inquired about trading for the first pick in the draft.

“Still a work in progress.”

Jaguars GM Trent Baalke later says they have 4 players in consideration for the No.1 overall pick. He won’t reveal who or what positions. Gotta figure Aiden Hutchinson, Travon Walker & at least one of OTs are among the group.

While they did not reveal their pick, Baalke and Pederson did talk favorably about Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson. Pederson especially pointed to Hutchinson as a fit for Jacksonville’s culture as a “good person, great leader.”

Doug Perderson says he fits the culture. “Good person, great leader.”
I still think he’s the pick at one.

Baalke did briefly discuss Hutchinson vs. Georgia pass-rusher Travon Walker. He admitted both players are productive but come from different schemes and were used in different ways.
“They’re both productive in their own way … Totally different schemes, used differently in those schemes.”
