Jake Butt understands that former Michigan players and fans can soak in the Rose Bowl victory, but he’s also confident that current players and coaches have reset their focus on Washington.

“I’ve trust that those guys have turned the page, we can ride high, we can say, ‘This is awesome,'” Butt said on Sirius XM. “I trust those guys have turned the page, that is seriously the No. 1 challenge here.”

Butt added to guard against feeling as if the job is finished, that Michigan accomplished what it set out to do this season.

“In a sense, beating the SEC and finally winning a Playoff game, and it’s at the Rose Bowl, it does feel like it’s time to celebrate,” Butt said. “But it cannot be time to celebrate. I think Washington’s a better team, a more dangerous team than Alabama for Michigan.”

Butt said he feels comfortable with the team’s approach after he watched the players all season.
