Jake Moody is breaking records on New Year’s Eve.

To end the first half of the Fiesta Bowl, Moody connected on a 59-yard FG as time expired. The FG sets a new Fiesta Bowl and Michigan record. The previous longest FG in the Fiesta Bowl was a 54-yarder made by Arizona State’s Luis Zendejas in 1983.

Moody’s FG moved the Wolverines to within 15 points, making the score 21-6 at halftime.

Moody has had a decorated career for the Wolverines. During the 2022 regular season, Moody became the Wolverine’s all-time leader in made FGs. Moody also set the Michigan record for FGs made in a single season in 2022, making 28 kicks.

The Wolverines are hoping to keep their championship hopes alive against TCU. At the start of the 3rd quarter, the Wolverines trailed the Horned Frogs 21-6 in Glendale.
