Michigan fans have heard it way too frequently over the last 15 years. Losing 14 of those meetings, including a current seven-game losing streak, has the people in Ann Arbor desperate to beat Ohio State.

One of those individuals is former Fab Five member Jalen Rose. The former NBA star-turned-analyst is getting his hopes up for the Wolverines in the 2019 season. Even though he’s been heartbroken before, he believes this is the year Michigan slays Ohio State.

“It’s our turn,” Rose said during Get Up!, as transcribed by 247Sports. “The Ohio State Buckeyes have humbled me the last decade and a half. I made sure when we played them I stayed silent. This year, I’m back talking.

“Urban Meyer is gone. This is our opportunity to not only seize the Big Ten, we’re going to go there first, beat our rival second and be in the championship picture. It’s going to happen this year. I’m just saying.”

Rose isn’t the only one who believes this is the year for Michigan.

At B1G Media Days, Jim Harbaugh was informed that his team was the favorite to win the East in 2019. When asked what his thoughts were on that prediction, he responded with “Yeah, that’s where I’d pick us.”

Michigan has had success over the last four years under Harbaugh, going 38-14, which includes three 10-win seasons. The problems have been a lack of victories over top 10 opponents, an 0-4 mark against Ohio State and zero division titles.

Could this be the year all that changes? Rose, Harbaugh and a lot of other people sure think so.
