Jay Harbaugh is the special team coordinator for the Michigan Wolverines. The coach, who is the son of Jim Harbaugh, has received a fair share of criticism for his unit’s performance in the Rose Bowl.
For starters, the Wolverines had a botched extra-point attempt in the 2nd quarter that kept the game at 13-7. Semaj Morgan lost a fumble on a punt return, kicker James Turner missed a field goal in the 4th, and returner Jake Thaw nearly cost his team the game after fumbling a punt that he fielded inside the 5-yard line.
These miscues did not end up costing the Wolverines a win, but they almost did. The Wolverines were able to escape with a 27-20 win in overtime.
Naturally, Wolverines’ fans took to social media to voice their frustrations with the unit. And while escaping the Rose Bowl is major, the unit will need to be better with a national title on the line in Houston.
Ok I’m breaking my own rule. Why did Jay Harbaugh have him field that punt inside the 10?!?!? What in the entire blue hell was that?!?!
