Jett Howard arrived in Ann Arbor as a 4-star prospect and key member of Michigan’s 2022 recruiting class. Now, the son of head coach Juwan Howard looks like he could be just what the Wolverines need this season.
In the season opener against Purdue Fort Wayne, Howard finished second on the team with 21 points behind star big man Hunter Dickinson with 22. Howard did lead the team in shooting while draining 5-of-10 attempts from 3-point range.
The versatility of the 6-foot-7 forward was also on full display. Howard led the Wolverines with 5 assists while adding 2 rebounds, a steal and a block in 31 minutes played.
Needless to say, with an outing like that, Howard had social media buzzing for his personal NBA potential and the impact he could have for the Wolverines this season.

Jett Howard driving the lane in transition, kicks it out to his brother Jace on the wing who buries the three.
They’ve done that a time or 50 in the driveway.

No chance that Jett Howard will be NBA ready after this season. Gonna need him to stay at least three years in my opinion

First half observations:
1. U-M is noticeably longer this year
2. Jett Howard is the REAL DEAL
3. Shooting is 📈
4. The freshmen have some elite skills — Dug = speed, Tarris = size, footwork, Jett = complete
5. Scrappy do-it-all guys, T Will, a serviceable Jace bring energy— Brandon Brown (@BSB_Wolverine) November 8, 2022

If you haven't put Jett Howard among the best freshmen in the country yet, you better do it soon.
Kid is a big time offensive talent.
21 tonight and FIVE made 3's. https://t.co/wRMolHImJh

Michigan's Jett Howard with another eye-opening showing after going for 30 in last exhibition. 21 points tonight, more impressive shooting versatility for a 6-8 guard/wing. Off movement, relocation, a deep pull-up. But also 5 assists, showed vision, made reads within offense. pic.twitter.com/jBdKnn7UNB
