Jim Harbaugh was asked about why one of his offensive lineman has not seen playing time recently. Harbaugh knows that his time is coming per Chris Balas of On3 Sports.

Harbaugh is talking about Michigan OL Greg Crippen. Crippen appeared in 6 games at center last season for the Wolverines, but has lost playing time to Virginia transfer Olusegun Oluwatimi. Oluwatimi has started all three games at center for Michigan this season.

If Oluwatimi can stay healthy, Harbaugh thinks that Crippen will see a redshirt in his future. Crippen is just a sophomore, and still has plenty of time left at Michigan.

“There’s nothing wrong with him. It’s just one of those things where there’s a possibility of redshirting him this year,” Harbaugh said. “We’re going to see how that goes. You can’t predict the future, but if Olu [Oluwatimi] can stay healthy and play in there, then there would be a shot of getting that year back for Crip. That’s why he’s only played one game.”

Crippen’s playing time this season could depend on the health of one of his teammates.
