NIL deals have changed the way that athletes benefit from their names. While some athletes keep their main profit for their personal usage, athletes like Michigan running back Blake Corum have used their profit to help others.

Corum is using his NIL deals and compensation to help pay for turkeys to give to families in need in two Ypsilanti communities. Corum is calling his event, “Give Back 2 Give Thanks.” This is certainly one of the more positive results of players using the funds generated by the NIL deals.

Coaches are not surprised when they see their players give back to those in need, but Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh was amazed by the actions of the sophomore running back. Harbaugh admitted he was blown away by Corum’s actions, even questioning why he wasn’t doing something like that himself.

Corum has not played since the 29-7 win over Indiana on Nov. 6. He is hoping to return as No. 6 Michigan will face No. 2 Ohio State in the key battle for the B1G East Division on Saturday.
