Jim Harbaugh announced how Michigan will handle head coaching duties if his suspension is indeed upheld for the rest of the season.

On Friday, it was announced by B1G commissioner Tony Petitti that Harbaugh would be suspended for the rest of the regular season. A temporary restraining order was not granted to Michigan ahead of the Penn State game, and the Wolverines will have a hearing this Friday to determine if Harbaugh remains suspended moving forward.

If that suspension is upheld, Harbaugh confirmed at his press conference that Sherrone Moore will handle the head coaching duties. Moore handled them on Saturday and previously during the Bowling Green game, both wins for the Wolverines.

Harbaugh said no one questions Moore’s dedication and connection with the team and called Moore “the best of the best” from Michigan’s deep staff of coaches:

“Sherrone Moore. As I said, we’ve got a lot of leaders. Some people scoffed at some of the things I said, I think I said it back in April. 10 coaches will be future head coaches, I think I made the statement 4 would be head coaches after this year. Sherrone is the best of the best,” said Harbaugh. “His toughness, mental toughness, physical toughness, and there’s nobody that doubts Sherrone Moore and his dedication and his connection to the team. That’s my pick.”
