Jim Harbaugh has had a busy week since the Fiesta Bowl with reports and rumors linking the Michigan head coach to a potential return to the NFL. The Wolverines are also dealing with an NCAA investigation according to reports on Thursday.

ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg and Mark Schlabach reported on that investigation Thursday evening with more details on the potential violations. According to that report, the alleged violations by the Wolverines include impermissible contact with recruits during dead periods and the use of a defensive analyst for on-field coaching activities.

However, a potentially bigger issue to the investigation is Harbaugh’s response to the investigation. According to ESPN’s report, Harbaugh’s cooperation with NCAA enforcement staff is “being examined,” and the head coach could face penalties that include a multigame suspension.

As things currently stand, Michigan has not received a Notice of Allegations, but the program could receive that in the coming days or weeks.

It will be interesting to see what the eventual Notice of Allegations includes and whether or not a suspension for Harbaugh is included.
