Michigan has had a rough season, reviving a number of rumors surrounding head coach Jim Harbaugh and his future in Ann Arbor.

At 2-4, last week’s loss to previously winless Penn State was another rock-bottom moment for the Wolverines. Unfortunately, it followed a triple-overtime win over Rutgers after getting blown out by Indiana and Wisconsin earlier in the year.

The performance on the field, coupled with Harbaugh’s current contract situation, has created plenty of speculation about the future of the Wolverines. Some are predicting Harbaugh returning to the NFL after this season while others are envisioning Michigan moving on from Harbaugh at the season’s end.

Either way, the rumor that Harbaugh is telling recruits he isn’t sure if he is returning for 2021 is blatantly not true. Sam Webb with Michigan Insider shared Harbaugh’s short but straight to the point response:

That obviously does not provide a lot of insight into the future, but this is definitely one of those rumors that simply does not make much sense. At this point, there would be nothing gained by Harbaugh telling recruits he is unsure if he would come back next season.
