Jim Harbaugh and Ryan Day coach against each other at rival schools, so it would make sense for there to be some animosity between them. However, Harbaugh revealed that it could be quite the opposite in a recent interview at B1G Media Days per Doug Lesmerises of cleveland.com.

Michigan got its 1st win over Ohio State since 2011 under Harbaugh last season. Harbaugh and Day started coaching against each other around the same time. The Wolverines hired Harbaugh in 2015. Day had a much later start with Ohio State as acting HC in 2018, then full-time in 2019. The rivals have both had success, and Harbaugh believes that their relationship is in a good place.

Here’s what he had to say about his relationship with the Ohio State HC:

“Professional,” Harbaugh said of his relationship with Day. “At the Heisman, cordial, you know. When we’re playing each other, (he’s) doing everything he can to have his team win, I’m doing everything to have my team win. Competitive.”

We’ll see if this statement holds true when the 2 B1G powerhouses meet up again on Nov. 26.
