Jim Harbaugh is ready for the season to begin. After a long time away from football due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Michigan head coach says he and his players are eager to get back on the field and start playing football games again.

Harbaugh has talked numerous times about his players feeling comfortable enough to suit back up in the maize and blue this fall and move forward with the 2020 season. While there are still certainly some unanswered questions, he says that so many players just want to start competing again.

In an interview with Jon Jansen on the In the Trenches podcast recently, Harbaugh says his team is ready to play as soon as possible.

“We’re ready to play, right now, anybody, anywhere,” Harbaugh said. “We just want to play. We just want to play football games. And as I said, there’s been so many guys that have trained so hard, not just now, but their entire life, for this opportunity.

“And recently they have played and put themselves in a position to have success. For those guys, those players that want to play, need to play, that’s the one we’re all willing to bend over backwards for so they can have the opportunity to do that.”

The B1G recently released its revised 10-game, conference-only schedule for the 2020 season. While it’s a step closer towards having football this fall, there is still a lot of unknowns as we continue to navigate through the pandemic.

But Harbaugh and the Wolverines are ready to hit the field, whenever and wherever the time comes.
