'Free Jim Harbaugh': Head coach, Michigan football honored at UM hockey game
Jim Harbaugh’s football team recorded a massive win Saturday afternoon, rolling past Penn State 24-15 in a top-10 showdown. Unfortunately, the head coach was not able to be on the sideline for that game after being suspended Friday.
However, one place Harbaugh is always welcome is Yost Ice Arena, home of Michigan’s ice hockey program. After arriving back from Penn State, Harbaugh and the Wolverines headed to the arena where Michigan hockey is facing Minnesota.
During a break in the action, the football team was honored with a thunderous cheer from the crowd. Those in attendance even dialed up a raucous “Free Jim Harbaugh” chant that could be heard throughout the arena.

During Saturday’s game, offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Sherrone Moore led the Wolverines as acting head coach, complete with an emotional shoutout to Harbaugh after the win. Blake Corum starred in the win and also was seen with a bruised and bloodied face in a viral image after the game.
Now, Michigan will prepare for a legal battle to try and get Harbaugh back on the sidelines for Week 12.
