Jim Harbaugh and Michigan are 6-0 on the season after a dominant outing against Minnesota. The Wolverines have a number of elite players, and one of the best is star quarterback JJ McCarthy.

Harbaugh has not been shy about heaping accolades on McCarthy, and he continued to do so after Week 6. The head coach labeled McCarthy the best QB in the country and said “There’s nobody we’d rather have” with the offense.

To his credit, Harbaugh noted he hasn’t watched all the top QBs in the country, but he still believes McCarthy is the top guy “play for play” at the position.

Certain players have had flashier numbers than McCarthy this season, but it’s hard to fault the QB for his performances. Save for one interception-heavy outing against Bowling Green, McCarthy has been nearly spotless throughout the season.

Against the Gophers, McCarthy had just 219 yards passing but was 14-for-20 with the ball and added a touchdown without a turnover. He also added a pair of rushing touchdowns.
