Jim Harbaugh lauds flawless work of Zach Charbonnet in passing game
Zach Charbonnet did not disappoint in his collegiate debut.
Charbonnet arrived at Michigan as the No. 4 overall back for the 2019 class and has impressed throughout the fall. He also looked really good in Week 1 during his Wolverines debut.
Unfortunately, he did not find the end zone against Middle Tennessee, but Charbonnet recorded 10 total touches for 99 yards in the season opener. Not only that, head coach Jim Harbaugh was impressed by the young back in pass protection.

According to Austin Meek of The Athletic, Harbaugh indicated Monday that the freshman was perfect in pass protection during Week 1. He went on to say that Charbonnet understands pass protection better than some pros.
That certainly is some high praise:
Harbaugh raving about freshman Zach Charbonnet, especially in pass protection, where he was 9-for-9 on blitz pickups. "I’ve been around pro backs that don’t understand the protections as well as the freshman back did in this game."
