Jim Harbaugh named the unit for Michigan football that has most improved since the start of the 2022 season on Monday.
He addressed the question on Inside Michigan football.

That’s a strong assessment. The Wolverines are one of the best defensive teams in college football this season with the numbers to back it up. Michigan is 4th in lowest opponent total yards per game, with Wolverine opponents averaging just 250 yards of offense this season. That mark is second in the B1G only behind Illinois.
The defensive line for the Wolverines has made the lives of opposing quarterbacks very difficult. Michigan is also fourth in the country in sacks with 24 through 7 games, an average of just under 3.5 per game for you math whizzes out there.
Michigan looks to keep its hot streak up in 2 weeks as they take on Michigan State following a bye week.
