So much for the “revenge tour.”

Michigan entered Saturday’s game against Ohio State on an impressive run. The Wolverines were favored by 4.5 points over the Buckeyes, but that is not at all how the game played out.

Jim Harbaugh’s squad cut the score to 24-19 headed into halftime. Unfortunately, the Buckeyes did not relent following the break. Quarterback Dwayne Haskins led the way in what turned out to be a 62-39 drubbing of the Wolverines.

What began as an impressive season now ends in unfortunate unfulfilled expectations. The same old questions will begin to resurface regarding Harbaugh’s failures in big games, but he did not back away from the disappointment following the game.

He accepted responsibility for the disappointing performance against the Buckeyes:

Accepting responsibility will do little to ease the pain and concerns of most fans. Arguably the best defense of Harbaugh’s tenure with the Wolverines looked overwhelmed against the Buckeyes in a disastrous showing to end the regular season.
