Landing Daxton Hill was a significant accomplishment on the recruiting trail for Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. The five-star prospect is the highest-ranked player in the Wolverines’ 2019 class and held offers from several elite programs.

It’s no surprise, then, that Harbaugh wants Hill on campus as soon as possible.

Recently, Harbaugh hosted Daxton Hill’s parents — Tia and Derrick Hill — on his “Attack Each Day” podcast, and explained that he’d like to have the former five-star recruit in Ann Arbor on June 1. The head coach wants Hill ready to go for summer and fall camp.

“I’d like to lobby for that June 1 date as well,” Harbaugh said on the podcast. “Daxton learning the system and getting up here a little bit early really would help. Because it’s sinking in that he’s going to be playing very early in his career here at the University of Michigan.

“I can’t wait for him to come up.”

As soon as Hill graduates from high school he can get on campus and get accommodated to college live and get familiar with Michigan football. For a kid who is expected to play so early in his career, the sooner the better.

Hill was the No. 1 safety in the 2019 class and was the top player out of Oklahoma, as well. According to 247Sports, Hill was ranked as the 14th-best prospect in the class.
