Jim Harbaugh is giving credit to Ohio State. On Saturday, the Michigan head coach says the Buckeyes were the better team on the field.

While Harbaugh hasn’t spoken with the media since the Wolverines 62-39 loss in Columbus — that isn’t unusual after the last game of the season, by the way — the Michigan head coach talked about the result on his “Attack Each Day” podcast.

“Nov. 24, the better team won,” Harbaugh said. “Ohio State was the better team. Congratulations to them. Had that been a week later or week earlier, the result might have been reversed.”

That’s probably not something a lot of Michigan fans want to hear, but what else can the head coach say? After giving up record-breaking numbers to the Buckeyes, it was clear the Wolverines weren’t in Ohio State’s class.

Now, rather than playing in the B1G Championship Game and competing for a spot in the College Football Playoff, the Wolverines will await to hear their postseason destination on Sunday, Dec. 2.

“They played better on that day,” Harbaugh said. “There’s thing in life where they don’t go your way. It almost seems like sometimes life is testing you. I believe the strong end up surviving and the weak end up keep having that happen to them the rest of their lives.”

Michigan’s struggles against Ohio State seem to have stretched for a lifetime. The Buckeyes have won seven straight against the Wolverines, and 14 of the last 15 meetings.

Harbaugh is 0-4 in the head-to-head series.
