Jim Harbaugh’s program is rolling into the College Football Playoff with Michigan landing the No. 1 overall seed on Sunday. As a result, the Wolverines will face SEC champion Alabama in the semifinals.

After that unveiling, Harbaugh met with ESPN to discuss the journey of the season. The head coach pointed to what he described as “a spiritual journey” for the Wolverines all season long.

“Thanks to God, first. He’s had his hand on this team the entire year. Been a spiritual journey for us, so all thanks to God and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I want to say this, you talk about some of the — it’s a galvanized team,” said Harbaugh. “Some may think it’s galvanized by adversity, it’s not. It’s galvanized by choice. Choice to play for each other.”

Harbaugh went on to say the theme of Michigan’s team is all about the players. He even concluded his cries for a revenue-sharing model with college athletes during the interview.

“This team is a real ball team, it’s not about one person, it’s not about any coach. It’s not about — it’s about the players. I love the way that you’re talking about the players, that’s who everybody comes to see. Those are the people who put in the work,” Harbaugh explained. “I hear a lot of the controversy about who should have been in, who should have been in and it’s going to be fortunate that next year it’ll be expanded Playoff and the true champion, it’s just going to be better. I hope you also remember it’s the players, and don’t forget to give them a share of the revenue.”

Harbaugh also said everyone within the Wolverine program has trust in one another. That trust led to the BET mantra the team has taken up since Harbaugh’s late-season suspension.

“It’s a trust, and there’s no better compliment that you can give to anybody, or any better compliment that you can get than to be trusted. Our players trust our coaches, our coaches trust our players,” said Harbaugh. “I trusted Sherrone Moore the most because I know he believed in the players the most. Our players came up with this BET. BET. You’ll have to look up what it means. But what it means to me is Bringing Everyone Together, and that’s what our team has done, so BET.”
