Jim Harbaugh mirrored Michigan legend Bo Schembechler when talking about this year’s team.

Schembechler coached at Michigan from 1969-89. His record in Ann Arbor was 194-48-5 by the time he left the program. Harbaugh was pumped to have the chance to coach Michigan in the Rose Bowl at Saturday’s presser.

“Bo Schembechler always talked about ‘the team, the team, the team.’ Well this team is the team,” said Harbaugh. “And I couldn’t be prouder, more excited to lead them into battle.”

Harbaugh also gave fans a comparison for Michigan as it heads into battle against Alabama. The winner of the Rose Bowl will head to Houston to play in the national championship at NRG Stadium on Jan. 9.

“Just picture your favorite ball team you’ve ever been on,” said Harbaugh. “High school, college, pro. This is that ball team.”

Kick-off between the Wolverines and Crimson Tide is set for 5 p.m. ET on ESPN.
