Jim Harbaugh has been the topic of plenty rumors and speculation the past couple of days following Michigan’s Fiesta Bowl loss to TCU.

He (kind of) put those rumors to bed Thursday afternoon. Harbaugh released an official statement on the rumors, stating “while no one knows what the future holds, I expect that I will be enthusiastically coaching Michigan in 2023.”

Michigan has now lost in the College Football Playoff semifinal twice in a row. The former San Francisco 49ers head coach is rumored to have been in contact with the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers, though this statement does not prove or disprove those rumors.

Michigan football still accomplished a lot this season, including a win over rival Ohio State, a B1G championship and a perfect, undefeated regular season. That’s more than enough to build on moving forward.

Should Harbaugh choose to say as this statement suggests, Michigan will be competing for championships again very soon.
