Jim Harbaugh reportedly has a major decision on his hands after presiding over Michigan’s best three-year run in quite some time.

With the NFL season winding down, reports linking Harbaugh to openings in the league have once again heated up. NFL insider Ian Rapoport admitted Sunday morning the head coach is one of the “intriguing” options this coaching cycle but a key decision awaits.

According to Rapoport, Michigan has offered Harbaugh an extension for 10 years and significantly north of $100 million. However, there is a clause related to the NFL if Harbaugh agrees to sign.

“Jim Harbaugh is once again one of the more intriguing names in the cycle. Here’s where it stands: According to sources, Michigan has offered Jim Harbaugh a massive deal,” Rapoport indicated. “Believed to be 10 years, $125 million. But, there is a clause in that contract where he agrees to not go to the NFL for one year. He has not signed it immediately. He is considering it. If he signs, it will take him out of the mix at least for 2024.”

We’ll see how this story develops, but Harbaugh will focus on getting Michigan over its College Football Playoff hump first. The Wolverines are in their third straight Playoff, this time as the No. 1 overall seed and facing Alabama in the Rose Bowl.
