Jim Harbaugh rumors: Dan Patrick says a source explains the likelihood of his NFL departure
Jim Harbaugh is reportedly set to interview for the Minnesota Vikings job on Wednesday, and the ongoing rumors continue to churn as the Michigan coach continues to receive interest from multiple NFL franchises.
It began with the Las Vegas Raiders, and the Miami Dolphins are also somewhat in the mix.
“This feels like it’s closer than you’d think,” Patrick said during his Tuesday show as he shared information from a B1G source. “… I don’t know what makes him tick. Feels like unfinished business. He didn’t win a Super Bowl and wanting to go back, his brother’s won a Super Bowl. He’s not going to win a national championship at Michigan. Really, it comes down to can you make it, well we’re going to have 12 teams in the Playoff coming up, but you’ve got to beat Ohio State. That’s really your season, and I don’t think you can beat Ohio State on a consistent basis.”
Patrick said Michigan in 2021 had a team that was built to beat the Buckeyes, and the Wolverines were more physical and manhandled Ohio State.
“I don’t think that happens every year,” Patrick said. “I don’t think many people know what makes Harbaugh tick. But maybe it’s, ‘I had to swallow my pride, you took half of my salary, and I came in and we had an unbelievable season, and we got to the final 4. Yes, we were blown out, but I brought you guys back, respectability, I’ve made Michigan football relevant, after Brady Hoke, and maybe says mission accomplished. He’s actually stayed at Michigan longer than I thought he would.”
