Jim Harbaugh rumors: Media links Michigan coach to another NFL opening
Jim Harbaugh is being linked to another NFL opening in the social media rumor mill. This time, the Michigan coach is being linked to the Miami Dolphins job.
Armando Salguero, a long-time Miami Herald columnist now at OutKick, shared that a former Dolphins employee still “plugged in” with the team expects owner Steve Ross “to do what he can to hire Harbaugh” if the coach is leaving the Wolverines for the pros.
Nick Baumgardner, who covers UM and other Michigan sports for The Athletic, added that he has heard similar about Harbaugh potentially going to Miami.
Have heard similar — Miami could be a Harbaugh landing spot. If in fact he gets an offer. He’s clearly interested in NFL reentry, as we’ve written for a while now — and we’ll see what comes/what he does. https://t.co/TeA9ruN9cr

Brandon Brown of Sports Illustrated’s Wolverine Digest noted what Ross said about Harbaugh on Jan. 10. Brown opined Ross was being careful with his word choice when talking about the Michigan coach.
“I’m not going to be the person that takes Jim Harbaugh from U-M. I hope he stays there. He’s a great coach.”
Very carefully crafted words from Stephen Ross on Jan. 10. Didn’t use the word hire anywhere and clearly left the door open to get involved if leaving is Jim’s choice.

These rumors come after Harbaugh was previously linked to the Las Vegas Raiders and Minnesota Vikings jobs. The Raiders are now expected to hire Josh McDaniels based on the latest reports. The Vikings, meanwhile, recently interviewed Harbaugh to “gauge his interest.”
