https://twitter.com/chengelis/status/1036093922802642944The fourth year of the Jim Harbaugh era at Michigan got off to a rough start as the Wolverines fell 24-17 to Notre Dame in South Bend.
Michigan was playing catch-up all evening after two quick scores for the Fighting Irish put Harbaugh and Co. in a 14-0 hole. Despite having an opportunity at the end of the game to put together a game-tying drive, Shea Patterson and the Wolverines came up short.
Here’s what Harbaugh had to say after losing the Week 1 rivalry game to Notre Dame:
Jim Harbaugh: "It's a beginning for us. We're not treating it like the end."

Jim Harbaugh on QB Shea Patterson's Michigan debut: "He competed well. he was doing the things we were asking him to do for a first time out, with his new team, he did a good job." https://t.co/JgcTbnKg95

Harbaugh doesn't feel like they were easy with the offense to begin the game. Says big penalties on defense kept drives alive. 3rd downs were about even on both teams.
