Shea Patterson is starting to receive attention from a lot of people around college football. The important people, like young Katie Harbaugh.

On Monday, Jim Harbaugh was asked about Patterson’s play at his weekly press conference. Specifically, he was asked for his opinion on some of the people who were continued to criticize the Michigan quarterback, despite the weekly improvement.

Harbaugh referred to his daughter, seven-year-old Katie, who “doesn’t play sports” to respond to that question.

She’s definitely a fan of Patterson.

You can’t question that analysis, can you? If Harbaugh’s daughter believes Patterson is playing well, your argument doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

Patterson threw for a season-high 282 yards and three touchdowns as the Wolverines defeated Maryland on Saturday. Michigan is now 5-1 on the year and a perfect 3-0 in the B1G.

The season opener against Notre Dame was a struggle for Patterson, throwing for 227 yards and throwing an interception in the loss. But he’s been much better since that Week 1 game, and has racked up 960 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and just two interceptions in the last five games.

Michigan is 5-0 in that stretch.

Patterson has another huge test this weekend, taking on a stout Wisconsin defense. Michigan will need him to perform at a high level Saturday in order to improve to 5-1.

Harbaugh won’t have to refer to his daughter’s analysis any longer if Patterson performs well against the Badgers.
