Jim Harbaugh says Michigan is different this year following win over Wisconsin: 'They don't flinch'
Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s a happy guy.
His 14th-ranked Wolverines did what they needed to do to pick up their first win at Wisconsin in 20 years, 38-17. Michigan found its passing game as quarterback Cade McNamara completed 17 of 28 passes for 197 yards and 2 touchdowns. Backup JJ McCarthy threw for a 56-yard touchdown and snuck one in, as well.
This is the second time Michigan has gone 5-0 under Harbaugh, and the first time since 2016. The Wolverines are in a good spot heading into the heat of B1G play, especially if they can jumpstart the passing game when the run game isn’t there. Wisconsin kept Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins out of the end zone on Saturday.
The fact that they can make those adjustments shows how different this Michigan team is than others under Harbaugh. The coach addressed that and more in his postgame press conference.
Here’s what he had to say:
Jim Harbaugh says in warmups talking to players that “there was a vibe that they weren’t going to be denied.” Said that energy played a role in early fourth-down calls to “bring that to life.” pic.twitter.com/wtyOd9Lvqu

Harbaugh says Michigan’s sophomore standouts (Wilson, Henning, Corum) remind him of the X-men, when a young hero finds their superpowers. “Now they know they have it.”

Jim Harbaugh: “This is a pretty young team. It reminds you of those X-Men movies where the little kid or teen finds their power.”
