Jim Harbaugh and his wife Sarah are stepping up in a big way to help against the fight of COVID-19.
MLive.com reported on Monday that the Harbaughs have made a $100,000 donation to the United Way of Southeastern Michigan in support of the organization’s COVID-19 efforts. The fund is helping those who have been affected most by the pandemic in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties.
“My wife Sarah and I wanted to make sure we made this donation where it could have the most impact,” Harbaugh said in a statement. “We have been looking for a way to help the families that are really having a difficult time right now; that’s why we decided to support the work of United Way for Southeastern Michigan.
“We stand with families feeling the brunt of the crisis and encourage others to give or volunteer, if they are able.”
The United Way of Southeastern Michigan launched the COVID-19 community response fund earlier this year and has already received over $15 million in direct and in-kind donations. It has also helped distribute over $2 million in personal protective equipment.
