Jim Harbaugh is really excited about the talent Michigan has on the defensive side of the football entering the 2020 season. And for good reason.
On Monday, Harbaugh was on the Inside Michigan Football radio show and talked about the talent the Wolverines return on the defensive side of the football. He seemed particularly enthusiastic about defensive back Dax Hill, as well as defensive linemen Aidan Hutchinson and Kwity Paye.
Hill, who was a former 5-star prospect who worked his way onto the field for the Wolverines as a freshman last season, is described as a “great communicator,” and a player Harbaugh believes could be the most talented on the roster.
According to Angelique Chengelis of The Detroit News, Harbaugh is excited about what Hill brings to the field.

In addition to raving about Hill, Harbaugh is impressed with the work of Hutchinson and Paye along the defensive line. It’s similar to the comments made by defensive coordinator Don Brown, who said that if there’s a better combination, “I don’t know it.”
Harbaugh said the experienced linemen are having great camps thus far.

That serves as good news for Michigan, considering all the change on the offensive side of the ball. Replacing an offensive line, a starting quarterback and a slew of talented receivers is no easy task. The Wolverines will need a lot of help from the defense in 2020.
But it seems that Harbaugh trusts that players on that side of the football. It should be a fun group to watch this fall.
Michigan opens the season against Minnesota on Oct. 24.
