J.J. McCarthy isn’t afraid of the Iowa crowd at Kinnick Stadium. The Michigan QB found RB Donovan Edwards in the back of the end zone for the team’s first touchdown of the second half.

The Iowa defense decided to come after McCarthy with the blitz on third down, and McCarthy made them pay.

McCarthy ran away from the Iowa defenders, and was able to make a great throw on the run for Edwards’ 12-yard TD catch. Thanks to the touchdown, Michigan went up 20-0 in the third quarter.

This is Edwards’ first game back since his injury sidelined him and kept him out of the game against Maryland. Edwards has been dealing with a leg injury as of late.

Edwards will most likely be the No. 2 running back in Jim Harbaugh’s offense behind Blake Corum. Corum has established himself as the lead back after rushing for over 400 yards so far.

We’ll see how long Michigan can keep up the shutout against Iowa.
