JJ McCarthy has been making plays all night long for Michigan. Now, he may have just provided the throw to clinch a B1G Championship Game win over Purdue.

Facing a 3rd-and-11 with a 9-point lead, McCarthy stood tall in the pocket. With his offensive line giving him time, McCarthy was able to step into a beautiful throw toward the back of the end zone.

With the safety vacating the middle of the field, McCarthy’s throw as able to hit Ronnie Bell in stride before Bell stepped out of the back of the end zone. That touchdown — and a converted 2-point attempt — gives the Wolverines a 17-point lead with 9 minutes left in the game.

Donovan Edwards caught fire in the second half, but McCarthy provided the offense in the first half for the Wolverines. He’s also making big plays late with Michigan on the verge of a College Football Playoff appearance.
