JJ McCarthy is trying to play his way into the heart of the discussion for the Heisman Trophy, and he has shredded Michigan State’s defense with apparent ease in the rivalry game.

McCarthy has maintained a blend of athleticism and arm talent that few quarterbacks have. Earlier in the week, head coach Jim Harbaugh even said McCarthy is on track to be the best all-time QB in the history of the Wolverines.

Against the Spartans, McCarthy looked like it with some on-target throws time and time again. It wasn’t just his arm though with McCarthy breaking the pocket to churn up yards with his legs.
