JJ McCarthy led the Michigan Wolverines to their first national title in over 25 years on Monday night. McCarthy’s Wolverines defeated the Washington Huskies 34-13 to win the National Championship Game in Houston.

The Wolverines returned home to Ann Arbor on Tuesday night and were greeted by swaths of fans. McCarthy was greeted by chants of “one more year,” as fans made it known they want their QB back in tow for the 2024 season.

McCarthy can come back for an additional year if he chooses, or he may enter the 2024 NFL Draft after an impressive season.

In 2023, McCarthy finished with 2,991 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. The QB set career-highs in completion percentage, yards, and yards per attempt.
