Just a few short weeks ago, head coach Jim Harbaugh announced that QB Cade McNamara would start the season opener against Colorado State and that JJ McCarthy would start in Week 2 against Hawaii.

Week 1 is in the bag with a 51-7 routing over Colorado State, and although he didn’t get the start, McCarthy entered the game in the third quarter and broke free for a 20-yard touchdown run shortly after. He didn’t look back, helping to open a 37-point lead and eventually clinch the win for Michigan. Head coach Jim Harbaugh praised the QB, saying he was “electric,” and his play certainly showed it.

The Wolverines will be back in action on Saturday against Hawaii, and in an interview, the QB hinted that he already had some plays in mind, and some potential targets as well.

Did McCarthy tip his hand, or was this just a warning for the Rainbow Warriors? Either way, it sounds like fans are in for some exhilarating football.
