J.J. McCarthy will be playing in one of the important games of Michigan’s season. Other than the rivalry matchup with Ohio State, this should be the second-most important game of the year.

McCarthy spoke with WXYZ Detroit’s Brad Galli about how crucial this game is going to be. McCarthy is undefeated as Michigan’s starting QB and has 1,152 yards passing with 10 total touchdowns and just 1 interception.

The Michigan QB is looking forward to the challenge that awaits his team.

“What a beautiful challenge, what a beautiful opportunity to match ourselves up with them and see who’s better,” said McCarthy. “We’ve put in the work since January after the Georgia game, so just seeing if everything we’ve done is gonna show when we play teams like this, it’s extremely exciting.”

The Wolverines face the Nittany Lions at home Saturday. The last two games of the series have been split. Michigan won last season, but the 2020 meeting in Ann Arbor was won by Penn State.

Penn State-Michigan will be at noon ET on FOX.
