J.J. McCarthy talked about the scrum that happened in the tunnel at Michigan Stadium at halftime in an interview after the game. 247Sports’ Sam Webb reported on what he said.

McCarthy apparently showed up to the scuffle late. He did have a prediction for who started it though.

McCarthy added to the fire between the two schools and of course blamed Penn State for what happened.

“Oh I was late,” said McCarthy. “I didn’t really see it, but Penn State probably started it and we finished it.”

Despite what happened in the tunnel Michigan crushed Penn State in the second half. The Wolverines ended up winning 41-17 after only being up by two points at halftime.

Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum had a big part in the second half domination of Penn State. The backfield pairing combined for over 300 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns.

McCarthy did not have his best outing with 145 yards passing and 1 interception. However, Michigan got it done without McCarthy playing at his best.
