Josaiah Stewart is not done yet, confirming on Monday that he will be back for another year with Michigan after the national title run!

During the 2023 season, Stewart was second for the Wolverines with 5.5 sacks and third in tackles for loss with 8.5. He joined the program last offseason after spending his first two seasons as an impact defender for Coastal Carolina.

Now, Stewart provides at least one veteran for Michigan’s defense with a number of departures to the NFL Draft in store:

This past season, Stewart appeared in all 15 games and originally produced a breakout performance against Nebraska with 5 tackles and 2 sacks. He followed that up with another sack and 1.5 TFL on the road vs. Minnesota.

Stewart was particularly impactful in the College Football Playoff. He set a season-high with 7 tackles to go with 2 TFL and a sack in the Rose Bowl win over Alabama. He finished the season with 5 total tackles in the win over Washington.

With veteran Braiden McGregor off to the NFL Draft, Stewart has a chance to lead Michigan’s pass rush and boost his own stock during the 2024 season.
