Junior Colson describes how Michigan snuffed out Alabama's 4th down play to clinch the Rose Bowl
Junior Colson and the Michigan defense knew what was coming, even after a pair of timeouts.
With Alabama facing a 4th down from the 3-yard line in overtime, Colson said the Michigan defense was setup in Cover Zero. And just like that, Jalen Milroe ran into a wall of defenders to clinch the Rose Bowl for Michigan and a ticket to play in the national championship.
“Coach was telling us all the time, ‘This is the moment we were built for, this is the moment we come out here and play for,'” Colson said. “We knew exactly what was going to happen. When the moment gets tough, you go to your best player and they went to their best player, and we were right there to stop it. We sent the house. We said it’s 4th down, one last play, everybody strained, everybody strained to the ball.”
